Catherine obtained her Civil Law and Common Law degrees from McGill University. Her path was colored by the intramural women’s hockey, innertube water polo and basketball teams, a minor in Hispanic studies as well as a semester in Australia.

Catherine is fueled by adrenaline and professional challenges. She appreciates every opportunity to advance best practices and support professionals and students in Quebec’s legal industry. Her quick wit and love of laughter make her a stimulating colleague who thrives when sharing innovative visions and ideas.

Catherine joined Monette Barakett in March 2021 as Executive Director. In addition to seeing to the general management of the firm’s operations, she participates in strategic planning and ensures ideas’ implementation. She contributes to business development, the firm’s branding and marketing efforts, as well as the professional development of lawyers. Catherine sits on the board of directors and on various strategic committees.

Prior to joining Monette Barakett, Catherine managed the operations and talent of a start-up firm, held the role of Director of Professional Resources with a pan-Canadian firm and headed the Career Development Office at McGill University’s Faculty of Law. She has thus accumulated more than fifteen years of experience in management in the legal environment and in professional development. She has strong skills in strategic planning, change management, communication, training and talent recruitment.

Catherine acts as President of the Quebec Association of Legal Administrators (AQAJ). She has been involved in various non-profit organizations, including Action Réfugiés Montréal and the United Nations Association in Canada. She participated in Barreau du Québec’s work with the Justicia and Panorama projects, to promote the retention of women in private practice and for greater ethnocultural diversity among its members.

Catherine offers training, conferences and workshops on various topics surrounding the professional development of lawyers, both in her workplace and in universities with which she has established links for over 15 years.
