In his law practice, Jean-René is curious, industrious and versatile. In life, he enjoys the outdoors and travelling as well as running and biking. No matter the issue brought before him by managers and administrators, Jean-René is known for delivering actionable solutions.
Jean-René joined the Monette Barakett legal team in 2019 after practising labour law and health and occupational safety law while working for an employers’ association that represents important players in Québec’s construction industry. During his time there, he acquired appreciable experience in health and occupational safety law. He was regularly called upon to represent small, medium-size and large businesses before administrative and common law tribunals litigating health and occupational safety cases in matters relating to prevention as well as workers’ compensation.
At Monette Barakett, Jean-René’s mandates revolve around matters relating to work attendance management in the field of health and occupational safety as well as labour law, civil litigation law, and health and social services law.
His labour law practice calls him to work cases involving grievance arbitration and discipline management. He also advises employers in their management of CNESST cases and pleads before Québec’s administrative labour tribunal when cases become litigious.
As a civil litigator, Jean-René performs research, drafts procedures and makes representations before the courts.
In cases involving health and social services law, Jean-René is primarily called upon to plead before the courts on matters relating to medical and institutional care ordinances.
