Partner and member of the Executive Committee, Stéphanie Rainville advises and supports employers and organizations in addressing strategic issues related to labour and employment law, occupational health and safety, and health law. Driven by a commitment to excellence and a strong capacity for adaptation, Stéphanie is recognized for her dynamism, versatility, and analytical skills. Approachable and engaged, she works collaboratively with her colleagues and contributes to the success of the firm’s mandates.
Stéphanie joined the firm in 2001 while completing her articling internship, became a partner in 2011, and has served on the Executive Committee since 2017. Over the years, she has been actively involved in various firm committees and plays a key role in developing the next generation of professionals, particularly through mentorship. In 2018, she obtained a certification in Leadership and Management Skills from the Institute of Leadership and Management.
She advises and represents employers as well as public, parapublic, and municipal organizations in managing their strategic, organizational, and legal challenges. Known for her pragmatic approach, ability to quickly grasp complex issues, and collaborative mindset, Stéphanie helps clients develop solutions tailored to their operational realities. Her experience enables her to intervene effectively in both preventive matters and disputes, as well as in situations requiring strategic management.
In labour and employment law and occupational health and safety, she assists employers with matters involving workplace injuries, cost allocation, absenteeism management, accommodation, discrimination, psychological harassment, and the implementation of administrative and disciplinary measures. She advises and represents clients before various administrative and judicial bodies, including the Administrative Labour Tribunal, grievance arbitration boards, and the civil courts.
Throughout her career, Stéphanie has represented clients in several hundred contested cases and has participated in negotiating an equally significant number of settlements. She has served as chief spokesperson for employers during collective bargaining negotiations, notably for the Société de transport de Montréal, as well as in negotiations concerning local provisions of collective agreements in the health and social services sector.
Finally, her civil litigation experience includes representing defendants in class action proceedings.
