Me Jean-René Lafrance joined Monette Barakett in 2019. Jean-René is a curious, dynamic, and versatile lawyer. In every situation, Jean-René knows how to offer practical solutions to support managers.

At Monette Barakett, Jean-René practices in the field of occupational health and safety—workplace attendance management—as well as in labor law, civil litigation, and health and social services law.

As part of his labor law practice, he assists clients with matters involving the interpretation of collective agreements, grievance arbitration, and essential services.

In the area of occupational health and safety, he provides daily advice to employers on managing their OHS files. He regularly represents businesses and institutions before the Administrative Labour Tribunal when disputes arise. Jean-René is also called upon to plead before common law courts in occupational health and safety litigation, including criminal matters.

In civil litigation, Jean-René conducts research, drafts pleadings, and represents clients before the courts. He advises a clientele active in various sectors.
